Amazon Announces €1 Billion Investment in Belgium, Bolsters Logistics and AI Initiatives
Amazon unveiled plans to invest more than €1 billion in Belgium between 2025 and 2027, marking its largest commitment to the country to date. The announcement came during a Belgian economic mission in California, with the funds earmarked for job creation, infrastructure expansion, and enhanced delivery capabilities—including same-day service launches. Bpost remains a strategic delivery partner, though Amazon Logistics will diversify its operations.
The company’s managing director for Belgium and the Netherlands, Eva Faict, emphasized workforce growth and AI investments to support small businesses. Amazon’s local team currently stands at 400 employees, with further hiring expected but not quantified.
